The Italian government launched the scheme to support the creation of new air links to and from airports in the Calabria region.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will run until March 27, 2027, and aims to improve connectivity between Calabria and other European regions as well as the mobility of residents in Calabria. The aid will take the form of <strong>direct subsidies<\/strong> and is open to airlines establishing new connections between one of Calabria&#8217;s three airports and another airport in the European Common Aviation Area.
