Eurostat data released today (Feb. 9) will make consumers all over Europe even happier: the inflation index for this product, synonymous with Italy and known throughout the world, has fallen from 15.9 percent in December 2022 to 5.9 percent in December 2023. After peaking in February 2023 (18.1 percent), the cost of a Margherita, a Capricciosa, a Marinara, or\u00a0whatever other type of pizza\u00a0has steadily and progressively dropped.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The result of this drop\u00a0 in the 2023 inflation rate for pizzas and quiches\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>is that at the end of last year, going to restaurants and buying to consume at home, among friends, or with a partner means\u00a0saving.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/web\/main\/about-us\/who-we-are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Statistical Institute <\/a>data show that, in Italy, one of the symbolic dishes of the &#8216;made in Italy,&#8217; \u00a0is more affordable than the EU average (4.3 percent compared to 5.9 percent) and many other EU countries. Italy&#8217;s pizza inflation index is 13th in the EU.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>The highest pizza inflation rates are in Hungary (+13.4 percent), Luxembourg (+11.3 percent), and Latvia (+10.6 percent).<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurostat data show the reduction in the cost index of one of Italy&#8217;s iconic products.
