While the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/06\/who-is-peter-magyar-orbans-challenger-gathering-increasing-support-in-hungary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"_blank noopener\">hopes for a weakening<\/a> of <strong>Viktor Orb\u00e1n<\/strong>&#8216;s regime resides more in the ex-Fidesz challenger, <strong>P\u00e9ter Magyar<\/strong>, the Two-Tailed Dog Party <a href=\"https:\/\/ketfarkukutya.mkkp.party\/2024\/01\/10\/what-is-this-dog-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highlights with irony<\/a> several Hungary&#8217;s problems with the EU, such as migration policy, climate, and the economy: &#8220;We want to deal with the really important things, like making beer free in Western Europe, but of course, we also deal with unimportant things like emigration or immigration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\">Speaking of animals, in the <strong>Czech Republic<\/strong>, the Tabby Party (Mourek), founded as a satirical\u2014but not too much\u2014political formation for the betterment of the capital city of Prague and now running for a seat in the EU Parliament with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voltemourka.cz\/cely-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">programme<\/a> based on climate, transport, migration, the euro and veto rights, is coming up for election. Attempting to exploit voter distraction will be the A Better EU with Aliens party, which will stand under the acronym &#8216;Ano&#8217; just like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/10\/czech-republic-campaigning-also-done-on-the-faces-of-party-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more structured political formation<\/a> of former prime minister Andrej Babi\u0161. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mimozemstani.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">election proposal<\/a> is focused on the end of the war (in Ukraine) and fighting inflation, but what catches the eye is almost only the fact that its 23 candidates for the European elections show up everywhere dressed as aliens.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe title=\"ANO LEP\u0160\u00cd EU S MIMOZEM\u0160\u0164ANY (zastav\u00edme drahotu a v\u00e1lku)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w1vWWNYjCXA?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/www.eunews.it\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\">Among the strangest parties around Europe that will compete in the 2024 European elections is the United Cypriot Hunters&#8217; Movement, a conservative formation that <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprushunters.com.cy\/%CE%BA%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%83%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%8C\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposes<\/a> sustainable hunting of animals and the preservation of the natural environment in Cyprus, but which at the same time opposes same-sex marriage, describing it as &#8220;against human nature&#8221;. For example, the Don&#8217;t Vote Urza.cz (Nevolte Urza.cz) party proposes everything that Brussels is trying to disincentivize\u2014non-participation in voting\u2014and, inspired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urza.cz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anarcho-capitalist ideas<\/a>, rejects any political function, rejects the role of the state in the market, and claims that it will renounce any mandate it receives in European or national elections. On the other hand, a similar role in <strong>Spain<\/strong>, but with a different goal, is embodied by <strong>Empty Seats<\/strong> (Esca\u00f1os en blanco), which is standing for the first time in European elections. The only article in<a href=\"https:\/\/escanos.org\/conocenos\/programa-electoral-de-escanos-en-blanco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the electoral programme<\/a>\u200b is the one about &#8220;not getting into office,&#8221; not working as MPs, and not accepting any public remuneration if elected: &#8220;With this programme, we wish to make visible and make effective, through the corresponding empty seats, <strong>the will of voters who are dissatisfied with the current representative system<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, another unique party in <strong>France<\/strong>, albeit one linked to a more structured cultural tradition, is presenting itself for the fifth consecutive time. <strong>Esperanto common language<\/strong> (Esp\u00e9ranto langue commune) is once again pushing a single-issue campaign to <strong>get the planned language<\/strong> developed between 1872 and 1887 <strong>included in the list of 24 official languages of the Union<\/strong>. The election programme\u2014obviously written in Esperanto\u2014proposes &#8220;an easy-to-learn neutral language for a more democratic Europe&#8221; since &#8220;the institutions of the EU function almost exclusively in English&#8221; and in this way &#8220;, the European population is cut off from its leaders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"flourish-embed flourish-map\" data-src=\"visualisation\/17882485\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are a number of satirical or rather unique formations in the 27 member countries coming to the test of the June 6-9 vote.
