It would be really useful.\u00a0If we succeed <strong>we can become the second group in the European Parliament<\/strong>,&#8221; the\u00a0Rassemblement National President said. The scenario remains very difficult for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/30\/from-the-far-right-to-the-far-left-the-plate-tectonics-of-possible-new-groups-in-the-eu-parliament\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all sorts of reasons<\/a>, internal and external to the groups of the ECR (to which Fratelli d&#8217;Italia belongs) and the far-right Identity and Democracy (to which Rassemblement National and the League belong and from which<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/23\/eu-parliaments-identity-and-democracy-group-expels-afd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Germans of Alternative f\u00fcr Deutschland<\/a> were expelled recently). The Hungarian Prime Minister certainly does not hide <strong>his interest in joining this unique camp with his Fidesz party<\/strong> &#8211; whose members for the past three years have been relegated to the group of non-enrolled members of the EU Parliament &#8211; <strong>with the prospect of\u00a0joining the European party chaired by Meloni<\/strong>. &#8220;We are ready, and we will enter; the idea was to enter already before the elections, but at this point, we will do it after the vote,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/02\/02\/orban-puts-entry-into-post-european-ecr-in-crosshairs-but-group-in-eu-parliament-awaits-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he said<\/a> on the sidelines of the extraordinary European Council in February.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\">The Hungarian Premier confirmed that he has<strong>&#8220;great respect&#8221; for his Italian counterpart, acknowledging her &#8220;very complex&#8221;<\/strong> task since she was appointed Premier in the fall of\u00a02022: &#8220;She was accused of being an extremist, of not respecting the values of the European Union,&#8221; but &#8220;today, everyone respects her right-wing government.&#8221; This is also seen\u00a0by <a href=\"http:\/\/Lo%20dimostra%20anche%20l&#039;aperturismo%20dell&#039;attuale%20presidente%20della%20Commissione%20Europea%20e%20Spitzenkandidatin%20(candidata%20comune)%20del%20Partito%20Popolare%20Europeo%20(Ppe),%20Ursula%20von%20der%20Leyen,%20per\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the opening<\/a> of the current European Commission President and <em>Spitzenkandidatin<\/em> (joint candidate) of the European People&#8217;s Party (EPP), <strong>Ursula von der Leyen<\/strong>, for possible cooperation in the next legislature with Meloni and her MEPs, but not with the entire ECR group nor even with a single far-right camp that would also include Fidesz, Rassemblement National, Vox, the League, and Poland&#8217;s Law and Justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an interview with &#8216;Le Point,&#8217;
