It\u00a0<strong>came in at 2.6 percent. <\/strong>Eurostat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/31\/eurozone-inflation-rises-again-in-may-eyes-on-the-ecb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed preliminary data,\u00a0<\/a>certifying the reversal of the trend of previous months. The uptick was due in particular to price developments for services <span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz JxVs2d ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">(+1.83 percentage points, pp), followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco (+0.51 pp), non-energy industrial goods (+0.18 pp), and energy.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz JxVs2d\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">(+0.04 pp).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To see\u00a0whether the downward parabola of inflation has really narrowed and is set to rise, we need to wait until July 2, when the European Statistical Office will release its preliminary estimates for June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Services biggest contributor to the increase.
