This +0.3 percent adds to an expansion by the same rate in the previous three months compared to the last quarter\u00a0of 2023. <strong>Since the beginning of the year, therefore,\u00a0GDP of the EU countries with the single currency recorded growth of 0.3 percent in the January-March and April-June periods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-383873 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/pil-eurozona-2406.png\" width=\"464\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/pil-eurozona-2406.png 464w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/pil-eurozona-2406-300x144.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 464px) 100vw, 464px\" \/>Among the main eurozone economies bucking the trend and below the European average are Germany and Italy.\u00a0<strong>In Germany, GDP contracted -0.1 percent<\/strong> compared to the first quarter of 2024, while in Italy,<strong>\u00a0Gross Domestic Product grew 0.2 percent\u00a0 in the second quarter.<\/strong>\u00a0Growth in France\u00a0was\u00a0average, registering 0.3 percent.
