While Malta (<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">95.8 percent), the Netherlands (93.2 percent), and Germany (91.5 percent) stand out as models of excellence in their ability to attract newly qualified young people into the labor market,\u00a0\u00a0&#8220;<strong>the lowest employment rates were recorded in Italy<\/strong> (67.5 percent), Greece (72.3 percent) and Romania (74.8 percent),&#8221; Eurostat notes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For the eurozone&#8217;s third-largest economy, the snapshot highlights a problem that must be solved\u00a0if the present and future competitiveness of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/02\/15\/italy-growth-stalls-only-0-7-percent-in-2024-last-in-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Country grappling with growth problems<\/a> is not to be affected. The data released today (Aug. 21) on the non-participation of recent college graduates takes on an even more relevant dimension when cross-referenced with data on college graduates.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/05\/27\/the-big-unknown-of-the-bachelors-degree-italy-third-to-last-in-college-graduation-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> In Italy, there are few college graduates<\/a>; even fewer end up in the workforce.\u00a0The overall assessment is a wake-up call for a country that has to reverse course to remain a player.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurostat certifies the country&#8217;s difficulties in treasuring skilled and specialized roles.
