Brussels – Former diplomat Marta Kos was nominated as Slovenia’s new European commissioner after Commission President Ursula von der Leyen publicly lobbied for governments to replace their male candidates with women to have gender parity in the next executive. Therefore, Slovenia changed its first candidate, Toma\u017e Vesel, who withdrew on Friday, to a woman.<\/p>\n
