The goal is <strong>to raise awareness<\/strong> among citizens on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>To make abstract concepts such as the rule of law more relatable, the Commission decided to combine <strong>illustrations and social media<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe title=\"Uguaglianza davanti alla legge\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tG-omgcpqKY?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/www.eunews.it\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>At the heart of the initiative is\u00a0explaining the <strong>six core principles<\/strong> defining the rule of law\u00a0(<strong>equality before the law<\/strong>, <strong>legal certainty<\/strong>, <strong>the prohibition of arbitrariness, judicial independence, legality, <\/strong>and<strong> separation of powers<\/strong>),\u00a0with &#8220;something we know from everyday life: <strong>the rules in sports<\/strong>,&#8221; as Niemann describes his work.\u00a0His graphics aim to help understand &#8220;what would happen if we took away the rules&#8221; as a metaphor for the importance of the rule of law in regulating social life.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>European Commissioner for Justice<\/strong>, <strong>Didier Reynder<\/strong>, welcomed the initiative, recalling <strong>the impact of the rule of law in daily life<\/strong> since we rely on it\u00a0&#8220;on a daily basis&#8221;
