At the centerpiece\u00a0of the European <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/eu-budget\/eu-borrower-investor-relations\/nextgenerationeu_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NextGenerationEU<\/a>,<strong>\u00a0\u20ac8.7 billion<\/strong> (net of pre-financing) was granted,\u00a0\u20ac1.8 billion in grants, and \u20ac6.9 billion in loans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/10\/10\/nrrp-eu-praises-italy-on-reforms-and-investments-made-so-far\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Once again<\/a>,\u00a0the EU executive expresses satisfaction with <strong>Italy&#8217;s <\/strong>path,<strong>\u00a0having satisfactorily completed the 23 milestones and 16 targets set<\/strong> in the Council&#8217;s implementation decision for the sixth installment.<\/p>\n<p>The sectors involved are digitization, public administration, business environment, justice, labor, clean mobility, renewable energy, gas supply security, agribusiness, waste management, and health care, to which 17 investments and as many reforms are dedicated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two key reforms <\/strong>are at the heart of this request.<strong> The first related to combating undeclared work,<\/strong> on which Italy has increased controls and penalties, promoting incentives for declared work and training of operators. There is also a\u00a0commitment to address\u00a0the exploitation of workers in agriculture, to collect detailed data, and to create a national information campaign.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The second focuses on\u00a0investments in the Adriatic line<\/strong> relative to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal\/repowereu-affordable-secure-and-sustainable-energy-europe_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>RepowerEU<\/strong><\/a>. Contracts have been awarded to\u00a0construct\u00a0crucial\u00a0components of the Adriatic pipeline: the Sulmona compressor station and the pipeline connecting the Sestino and Minerbio nodes. The 375 million euros committed will contribute to the security of <strong>gas supplies for Italy and Europe<\/strong>, boosting diversification of energy sources and reducing dependence on Russian gas. Parallel to this is the <strong>investment in\u00a0renewable energy and energy efficiency <\/strong>that\u00a0will contribute to the green transition and energy security.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the next four weeks<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>the\u00a0Economic and Financial Committee<\/strong> will give its final assessment, which may or may not confirm the green light and allow the Commission to make a payment decision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8.7 billion focusing mainly on reforms impacting the labor market and security of energy supply.
