By 2025, the government is already targeting another 18.3 bln"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brussels &#8211; Move forward, not to lose a penny, and not to lose face. <strong>Italy continues to work to obtain all the resources foreseen by the Recovery Fund.<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/12\/30\/nrrp-italy-asks-brussels-for-seventh-installment-of-18-3-billion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">request for\u00a0the payment of the seventh installment<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0financing of the Recovery Plan (NRRP) filed at the end of 2024\u00a0is part of a process that so far has produced the expected results, given the amount of EU resources that the country requested\u00a0and the expectations this generates among the partners. For 2025, the ruling coalition\u00a0has already advanced the work, requesting\u00a0an additional 18.3 billion euros on top of those already obtained from Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>How much does the 12-star treasure (partly to be paid back) total\u00a0so far? In 2024 alone, the government received about 20 billion as a result of the payment into the state coffers of the 11 billion fifth installment (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/08\/05\/brussels-italy-11-billion-nrrp-meloni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aug. 5<\/a>) and the subsequent 8.7 billion sixth installment at the end of the year (Dec. 23).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-179920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"Pnrr Italia\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Pnrr.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.governo.it\/it\/articolo\/pnrr-trasmessa-alla-commissione-europea-la-richiesta-di-pagamento-della-settima-rata-pari\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Announcing that it fulfilled commitments and programs, Palazzo Chigi<\/a> pointed out that Italy is the first country in the EU to have obtained six installments of the NRRP at the end of 2024 and even asked for a seventh\u00a0installment. The statement reflects two truths: the first is an\u00a0objective fact, the veracity\u00a0of the data. The second truth is that\u00a0<strong>Italy is the country that requested more European funds\u00a0than any other:\u00a0191.5 billion euros in\u00a0grants (68.9 billion) and loans (122.6 billion). <\/strong>Funds from a post-pandemic recovery mechanism &#8212; NextGenerationEU &#8212;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/01\/11\/gentiloni-nextgenerationeu-not-extendable-think-about-post-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">are to\u00a0be used by 2026 at the latest<\/a> and require Italy to request and use them for the success\u00a0of the NRRP.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Italy has obtained \u20ac121.6 billion to date<\/strong> from the European Union to finance its NRRP. Of these, 24.9 billion came in 2021 (pre-financing, paid on\u00a0Aug. 13), 42 billion in 2022 (two installments of 21 billion each, on Apr. 13 and Nov. 8), 35 billion in 2023 (18.5 billion installment on Oct. 9 and installment on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2023\/12\/28\/nrrp-italy-receives-fourth-installment-of-16-5-billion-euros-fitto-result-of-a-great-collective-effort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">16.5 billion on Dec. 28<\/a>). The last, 19.7 billion is the fruit of the 2024 work, aimed at\u00a0paving the way for the next disbursement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government has already received six installments, with the seventh already requested.
