But, given the <strong>vertical collapse of the Greens<\/strong>\u2014who constituted the <strong>third leg of the outgoing executive<\/strong>\u2014the centrists will now have to <strong>seek a new ally to shore up the government<\/strong> and keep out <strong>Sinn F\u00e9in<\/strong>, the party that, born as the <strong>political arm of IRA<\/strong>, advocates from the left the reunification of the island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">At least\u00a0<strong>nine independent MPs<\/strong>\u00a0will rescue the new majority in the <strong>lower chamber of the Irish Parliament<\/strong>, the <strong>D\u00e1il<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>vote in the House<\/strong>, after which the government can take office, has been set for<strong>\u00a0January 22<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <strong>program has been presented to the parliamentary groups<\/strong> of the two main governing parties and\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">is awaiting\u00a0<strong>final approval from the members<\/strong>, who are expected to come to<\/span>\u00a0dedicated meetings in the coming days. According to media previews, highlights include <strong>child care<\/strong>, maintaining the <strong>retirement age<\/strong> and keeping the current <strong>VAT rate on energy bills<\/strong>.
