The president of the European Commission, <strong>Ursula von der Leyen,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2024\/12\/19\/european-commission-launches-strategic-automotive-dialogue-from-january\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">follows up on her pledge and hosts a strategic automotive dialogue in Brussels,<\/a> bringing together the industry&#8217;s key players. <strong>She already promises them &#8220;a comprehensive Action Plan on March 5<\/strong>.&#8221; This plan, she stresses, &#8220;<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz JpY6Fd\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">will chart a clear course to ensure our industry can thrive in Europe and compete successfully on a global stage.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"lRu31\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"OvtS8d\">Von der Leyen announces a success story, and the first strategic dialogue for the industry is\u00a0shaping up to be one. Renault, Volkswagen, BMW, Volvo, Iveco, the\u00a0<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">European Automotive Suppliers Association (CLEPA), the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acea.auto\/acea-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACEA, which includes<\/a> Stellantis, Mercedes, Daimler, and Ferrari), the\u00a0European Consumer Organization (BEUC), and as well as the world of environmentally sustainable transportation represented by Transport &amp; Environment: the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ac_25_379\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">list of participants<\/a>\u00a0who flocked to Brussels demonstrates the eagerness of EU legislators and industry to find common ground to move forward.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Action Plan is a first step in this regard. It aims to address &#8220;a broad\u00a0range of issues relevant to the sector,&#8221; the Commission says, such as ensuring access to talent and resources, fostering technological innovation and the development of next-generation vehicles, and establishing a pragmatic and predictable regulatory framework.
