Brussels – The jewelry world remains impervious to the crisis affecting other European manufacturing sectors. According to data<\/a> released today (Feb. 14) by Eurostat, the value of total jewelry production in the European Union reached 4,363 million euros in 2023, up\u00a01 percent<\/strong> from 4,321 million euros in 2022.<\/p>\n

Italy is still the leading producer<\/strong> among the 27 member countries, with a production value of 1,559 million euros in 2023, accounting for 36 percent of the EU total. France follows, with a 33 percent share and a value of 1,444 million euros. Rome and Paris comprise nearly 70 percent of the old continent’s total production. Germany, which ranks third among European countries, stops at a production value of 507 million euros, 12 percent of the EU’s total.<\/p>\n

However, while the value of Italian jewelry production, one of the leading\u00a0Made in Italy manufacturing sectors, is down 8 percent compared to 2022<\/strong>, when it reached 1,695 million euros, France records the opposite\u00a0trend. Transalpine production grew significantly <\/strong>from a value of\u00a01,267 million euros in 2022 to 1,444 million in 2023.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Compared to 2022, the most significant relative increases in the value of jewelry production were recorded in Croatia (+26 percent), the Czech Republic (+25 percent), and Ireland (+20 percent). In contrast, the sharpest declines were in Lithuania, where production fell by 36 percent, Latvia (-16 percent), and Italy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
