Brussels –\u00a0A complaint against the Belgian judiciary for “damage to reputation:” Forza Italia MEP Marco Falcone is considering\u00a0this move\u00a0against investigators who, to\u00a0much media fanfare, recently\u00a0requested the seizure of the offices of his assistants Francesco Vasta and Paolo Campisi as part of an\u00a0investigation into an alleged corruption scheme\u00a0by Chinese Tlc giant Huawei.<\/p>\n
The seals were removed within a few days, and there was no action against Falcone or his staff.<\/p>\n
“In connection with the events that, in recent days, have affected the office of my parliamentary assistants in Brussels, I intend to make it known that these premises, which were interdicted by the authorities last Thursday, have been returned to our full availability,” Falcone announced two days ago.<\/p>\n
The MEP, deputy head of the Forza Italia delegation, insists that the seals “were\u00a0placed despite the complete lack of involvement by\u00a0myself and my assistants Francesco Vasta and Paolo Campisi in the Huawei investigation.”<\/p>\n
In particular, Falcone, elected in the Islands constituency, added\u00a0that “our parliamentary activity and the meetings held with stakeholders in recent months have never involved this area.”<\/p>\n
