{"id":425285,"date":"2025-04-30T11:43:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T09:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/2025\/04\/30\/il-pil-e-aumentato-dello-04-per-cento-nellarea-delleuro-e-dello-03-nellue\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T16:25:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T14:25:42","slug":"gdp-rose-by-0-4-percent-in-the-euro-area-and-0-3-in-the-eu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2025\/04\/30\/gdp-rose-by-0-4-percent-in-the-euro-area-and-0-3-in-the-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"GDP rose by 0.4 percent in the euro area and 0.3 in the EU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brussels &#8211; In the first quarter of 2025, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.4 percent (pct) in the <strong>euro area<\/strong> and 0.3 pct in the <strong>EU <\/strong>compared to the previous quarter, according to a preliminary estimate published by <strong>Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.<\/strong> In the fourth quarter of 2024, GDP had increased by 0.2 pct in the <strong>euro area<\/strong> and 0.4 in the <strong>EU<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These preliminary GDP flash estimates are based on incomplete data sources and subject to further revisions, Eurostat points out.<\/p>\n<p>Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 1.2 pct in the <strong>euro area<\/strong> and 1.4 pct in the <strong>EU<\/strong><b> <\/b>in the first quarter, after +1.2 in the <strong>euro area<\/strong> and +1.4 in the <strong>EU<\/strong> also in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Among the member states for which data are available for the first quarter of 2025, <b>Ireland<\/b> (+3.2 pct) recorded the highest increase over the previous quarter, followed by <strong>Spain<\/strong> and <strong>Lithuania<\/strong> (both +0.6 pct). In <strong>Italy<\/strong> the increase was 0.3 pct.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hungary<\/b> (-0.2 pct) was <strong>the only member state to record a decline<\/strong> from the previous quarter.
