EU Commission spokesman Balazs Ujvari announced this. As of today (May 2), the list includes Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia. &#8220;We expect this number to grow further,&#8221; Uijvari says. Three other countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, and the Czech Republic) have indicated that they intend to proceed similarly.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">The EU executive has acknowledged the possibility of easing constraints on public spending to support the defence sector in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2025\/03\/19\/be-prepared-for-the-worst-eu-approves-its-white-paper-on-defense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its white paper<\/a>, and has asked governments to notify requests by April 30.<\/span>\u00a0Italy, France, and Spain have not yet expressed interest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three oral requests have been added to the written ones.
