Brussels – The European Commission\u00a0approved \u20ac60 million in Italian state aid to support the construction of a new wet pet food production plant by Nestl\u00e9 Italiana SpA in the municipality of Mantua, Lombardy. The aid will take the form of a direct grant for the construction of the factory\u00a0and the production line. The Commission explains that the measure “will help promote a smart, competitive, resilient, and diversified agricultural sector that guarantees\u00a0long-term food security.”<\/p>\n
The plant\u00a0will also “support environmental protection and climate action, contribute to EU climate goals, and help strengthen the socio-economic fabric of rural areas.”<\/p>\n
