There, he says, the municipal tax was <strong>abolished<\/strong> &#8220;thus reducing the cost of access to the Abruzzo regional airport, guaranteeing a growth in traffic and a <strong>40 per cent increase in travellers<\/strong> compared to June last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To really achieve cohesion from one corner of the EU to the other, he continued, &#8220;we need to build <strong>infrastructure that reduces the distances<\/strong> between <strong>metropolitan centres and rural areas<\/strong>.&#8221; And it is also necessary, he pointed out, &#8220;to invest in effective and modern <strong>transportation<\/strong> that will bring people to <strong>repopulate these territories<\/strong> not only for tourism but also for residential purposes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">With regard to the infamous <strong>technological neutrality<\/strong>, Marsilio says he expects it to &#8220;be at the heart of the <strong>revision of the CO2 emissions regulation<\/strong> for cars and vans,&#8221; to be presented in the coming months by the EU executive and for which, he emphasises, there is &#8220;great expectation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px\">&nbsp;&#8220;In order to keep a <strong>strategic sector like the automotive industry<\/strong> alive,&#8221; he argued, reiterating one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2025\/01\/21\/cars-urso-insists-in-strasbourg-no-ideological-blinders-technology-neutrality-needed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"_blank\">Italian government&#8217;s favourite battlegrounds<\/a>, &#8220;Europe must <strong>revise the overly strict deadlines<\/strong> imposed on the transition and allow the use of <strong>alternative and low-emission technologies such as biofuels<\/strong>. &#8220;Only in this way can we <strong>achieve decarbonisation goals in an economically sustainable way<\/strong>,&#8221; he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the head of ECR&#8217;s delegation to the Committee of the Regions, a focus on local realities is also needed in terms of infrastructure.
