The latter are reported to have risen by 5.4 per cent in the euro area and 5.7 per cent in the EU in the last quarter alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the first quarter of 2025, only Finland had a figure suggesting a slight fall in prices, at -1.9 per cent, while the most significant growths were in Portugal (+16.3 per cent), Bulgaria (+15.1 per cent), and Croatia (+13.1 per cent). In the previous quarter, the largest declines in property prices were -2 per cent for Slovenia, -1.2 per cent for Luxembourg, and -1 per cent for Finland, while the largest increases were observed in Hungary (+5.2 per cent), Portugal (+4.8 per cent), and Croatia (+4.5 per cent).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the beginning of the year, in January, the emergence of unaffordable house prices prompted the European Parliament to set up a special commission to address the issue, headed by MEP Irene Tinagli of the PD.
