Brussels – Eastern Libya expelled the European delegation that had just arrived in the country to discuss new immigration measures. <\/p>\n

The delegation, comprising the Interior Ministers of Italy, Greece, and Malta, as well as the European Commissioner for Migration, Magnus Brunner<\/strong>, was stopped directly at Benina Airport<\/span> in Benghazi, where all members of the delegation were declared persona non grata<\/b>. The plane immediately left the airport.<\/p>\n

  A note from the government in this part of the country called the visit a “flagrant violation” of international conventions and Libyan law.<\/p>\n

 According to sources reported by the Greek daily Ekathimerini<\/em><\/a>, the reason for this was that the European delegation first visited Tripoli, the seat of the internationally recognised Libyan government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
