Korean researchers and organisations can now participate in several areas of the programme under the same conditions as EU Member States.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They will be able to participate in and lead international research consortia, access funding, and collaborate with leading research institutes in Europe and beyond to tackle global challenges. <strong>The Republic of Korea will also contribute financially to the programme&#8217;s budget<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This association agreement, says a Commission note, &#8220;strengthens the EU\u2019s geopolitical alliance with like-minded countries.
