This morning, October 6, the abrupt resignation occurred, despite the presentation of the new government&#8217;s composition only yesterday. &#8220;There were no conditions to remain prime minister,&#8221; he told the press after resigning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">The Macron loyalist and former Minister of the Armed Forces, who in September had been appointed by President of the Republic Emanuel Macron as the occupant of the&nbsp;<strong>Palais Matignon,<\/strong> appeared to have secured an agreement with other political forces for his government. An appeal for dialogue accompanied yesterday&#8217;s announcement of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rainews.it\/articoli\/2025\/10\/francia-al-via-il-governo-lecornu-nominati-18-ministri-a3743124-e59c-4517-be78-b951fe2a7cd4.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">18 ministers<\/a>: &#8220;We must be negotiators,&#8221; Lecornu had stated. A phrase that turned against him, given the <strong>heavy criticism of the appointments<\/strong> that came from across the parliamentary spectrum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">Whoever succeeds the prime minister with the shortest mandate in the history of the Fifth Republic &#8211; his executive lasted 27 days &#8211; will have to find a balance in a few months to present a <strong>budget law<\/strong>. A far from ideal scenario, especially considering the economic situation: political uncertainty has dragged down the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingsat.com\/cac-40-FR0003500008\/actualites\/cac-40-alors-que-le-sebastien-lecornu-a-demissionne-le-cac-40-plonge-1147775.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris CAC stock exchange<\/a> index by around -1.50 percent this morning.<\/p>\n<h3 id='lecornu-s-negotiations'  id=\"boomdevs_1\">Lecornu&#8217;s negotiations<\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">It was already clear last night that <strong>Lecornu&#8217;s hard line<\/strong> would not have paid off. The former Defense Minister presented a government team <strong>two-thirds similar to the previous one&nbsp;<\/strong>of the centrist <strong>Fran\u00e7ois<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2025\/09\/02\/france-far-right-confirms-no-confidence-in-bayrou-government-fails-to-secure-majority\/\"> Bayrou.<\/a><\/strong> The choice sent the Socialists, who were supposed to support him, into a rage. The leader of the Socialist Party (PS) in the National Assembly, <strong>Boris Vallaud,<\/strong> had given clear indications, denouncing the obstinacy of Macron loyalists, who &#8220;every day plunge the country a little more into chaos,&#8221; rendering the chances of support for the government null and void.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">The most extreme fringes of the Assembly also employed warlike tones, with<strong> <strong>Jean-Luc M\u00e9lenchon<\/strong><\/strong>, leader of the left-wing La France Insoumise party, labeling the 18 ministers as &#8220;a procession of revivals.&#8221;<strong> <strong>Marine Le Pen<\/strong><\/strong>, on the right, leader of the Rassemblement National, called for the dissolution of the National Assembly: &#8220;We are at the end of the road. The farce has gone on long enough,&#8221; calling for a<strong><strong> return to the polls<\/strong><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id='macron-vs-francia'  id=\"boomdevs_2\">Macron vs Francia<\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\">France\u2019s fifth political U-turn in the <strong><strong>Macron II<\/strong> <\/strong>era captures the mood of the moment and reflects the decline in popular support for <em>Le Pr\u00e9sident\u2019s<\/em> cause.<strong> <strong>France has forgotten what stability means<\/strong> <\/strong>since the dissolution of the National Assembly after a significant failure in the 2024 European elections, with five governments in three years.
