Eurostat&#8217;s preliminary estimates, released today (7 January), show a slight decrease in services&nbsp;<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">(3.4 percent, compared to 3.5 percent in November), and in non-energy industrial goods (0.4 percent, compared to 0.5 percent in November). The decline in energy was more pronounced (-1.9 percent, compared to -0.5 percent in November), while the cost of&nbsp;food was up (2.6 percent, compared to 2.4 percent in November).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/inflation-1225.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-442512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/inflation-1225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/inflation-1225.png 324w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/inflation-1225-300x139.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>At the member state level, inflation decreased slightly in Germany<\/strong> (from 2.6 percent to 2 percent), <strong>Spain<\/strong> (from <span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">3.2 percent to 3 percent),&nbsp;<strong>and France<\/strong> (from 0.8 percent to 0.7 percent).
