This is the (partial) list of those featured <strong>in Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n&#8217;s new election advert. <\/strong>Ahead of the elections, the Hungarian Prime Minister wants to close ranks and show his compatriots the support of his most loyal friends. The moment is decisive: <strong>parliamentary elections will be held on 12 April<\/strong>. Orb\u00e1n&#8217;s party,<strong> <strong>Fidesz<\/strong><\/strong>, is polling at<strong> <strong>39 per cent<\/strong><\/strong>, while<strong> <strong>the opposition led by MEP P\u00e9ter Magyar is at 51 per cent. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 id='the-support-of-friends'  id=\"boomdevs_1\">The support of friends<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong>Orb\u00e1n, therefore, trailing in the polls, played <strong>the international support card<\/strong>. The entire global far right has raised its hand to come to his rescue: Israeli Prime Minister <strong>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/strong>, France&#8217;s <strong>Marine Le Pen<\/strong>, president of the conservative Rassemblement National party, Czech Prime Minister <strong>Andrej Babi\u0161<\/strong>, Spanish conservative leader <strong>Santiago Abascal<\/strong>, Germany&#8217;s <strong>Alice Weidel<\/strong> of Alternative f\u00fcr Deutschland, and\u00a0even Italy&#8217;s own\u00a0<strong>Matteo Salvini<\/strong> (Minister of Infrastructure) and Council President <strong>Giorgia Meloni<\/strong>. In the video, the Italian Prime Minister highlighted the similarities with Orb\u00e1n: &#8220;Together we support a Europe that respects <strong>national sovereignty and is proud of its culture and religious traditions<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; border: 0; border-radius: 3px; margin: 1px; max-width: 540px; min-width: 326px; padding: 0; width: calc(100% - 2px);\" data-o-mail-quote-node=\"1\" data-o-mail-quote=\"1\">\n<div style=\"padding: 16px;\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-direction: row; align-items: center;\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-direction: column; flex-grow: 1; justify-content: center;\">\n<div style=\"display: block; height: 50px; margin: 0 auto 12px; width: 50px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-top: 8px;\">\n<div style=\"display: flex; flex-direction: row; margin-bottom: 14px; align-items: center;\">\n<div style=\"margin-left: 8px;\">\n<div style=\"margin-left: auto;\">\n<h3 id='the-confusion-of-the-right-wing'  id=\"boomdevs_2\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">The confusion of the right wing<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">The presence of the FdI leader infuriated the opposition. &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">A founding member of the European Union cannot lend itself to propaganda operations that legitimise illiberal models<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">,&#8221; commented European Parliament Vice-President <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Pina Picierno<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">, a member of the Democratic Party. According to Picierno, &#8220;Giorgia Meloni&#8217;s choice <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">weakens our country&#8217;s authority<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\"> and symbolises <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">the confusion that reigns on the right<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">.&#8221; Indeed, it is not wrong to speak of confusion. Viktor Orb\u00e1n&#8217;s challenger in the elections is <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">P\u00e9ter Magyar<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">, who entered the race with his centre-right party <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Tisza<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;\">. On 14 January, the results of the poll conducted by the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Hungarian polling institute Median<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\"> were published: Magyar dominates with <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">51 per cent of the vote<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">. &#8220;We are the majority,&#8221; the politician commented on X, adding, &#8220;We are facing the last stretch of the marathon from a fantastic position.&#8221; <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">Orb\u00e1n&#8217;s days therefore seem to be numbered, having been in power without interruption since May 2010.<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"my-2 [&amp;+p]:mt-4 [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:inline-block [&amp;_strong:has(+br)]:pb-2\"><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">Despite the estimates, however, Hungarians have little trust in the democratic system. In fact, <\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">44 per cent of respondents expect Fidesz to win<\/span><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\">, while only 39 per cent expect Tisza to win.
