The meeting, convened to decide whether to put the measure on the agenda and, if so, when, did not reach a decision. A new meeting has therefore been convened for Wednesday, 4 February, to take stock of the situation and, if necessary, make a decision at that meeting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the time being, therefore, the parliamentary committee is not following up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2026\/01\/20\/european-parliament-responds-to-trump-freezes-eu%e2%80%91us-tariff-deal\/\"><b>on the decision taken by the House<\/b><\/a>.&nbsp;Any decision not to put the EU-US agreement on tariffs on the agenda would be a significant political slap in the face for the Trump administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The group coordinators were unable to reach a decision on a freeze as a political slap in the face to Trump.
