Brussels – The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, will be a special guest at the European Commission’s seminar on competitiveness<\/strong>. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, invited the head of the IMF to attend the College of Commissioners’ meeting scheduled for 4 February, which will be entirely devoted to the agenda for European economic recovery.\n<\/p>\n

The special seminar on 4 February aims to provide an opportunity for an “in-depth strategic debate” on strengthening the European Union’s competitive position in a rapidly changing global context, according to Brussels, and is part of the broader EU agenda that includes the Informal EU leaders’ retreat scheduled for 12 February<\/a>, dedicated to strengthening the single market, and where Mario Draghi and Enrico Letta were also invited<\/a>. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
