The event will bring together representatives of European institutions to discuss these issues with Italian associations, stakeholders, and companies.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Agri-food focus. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One session will be dedicated to<\/span><b> \u201cFood safety: from agriculture to the food industry\u201d<\/b>.<b> <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In December 2025, the European Commission presented the Omnibus proposal, which aims to simplify EU rules on food safety, plant health and controls, reducing the administrative burden by 25\u201335 per cent. At the same time, work is underway in Europe to develop a new system to ensure consumers receive adequate nutritional information on products. The Agri-Food working group will focus on these topics, with the following participants: <\/span><b>Elisabeth Werner, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Director-General of DG AGRI at the European Commission; MEPs <\/span><b>Stefano Bonaccini, Salvatore De Meo, Carlo Fidanza and Cristina Guarda<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">;  <\/span><b>Flavio Facioni,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> member of the cabinet of EU Commissioner Oliv\u00e9r V\u00e1rhelyi; <\/span><b>Antonios Nestroras, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">founder and director of EPIC; <\/span><b>Eugenia Palagi,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Deputy Director of Antici and Coordinator of Antici Simplification at RPUE; <\/span><b>Simona Caselli, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Head of EU Affairs at Legacoop Agroalimentare; <\/span><b>Leonardo Pofferi, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Director of European Affairs and International Relations at Confcooperative; <\/span><b>Romina Raucci<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Head of European Affairs at Federalimentare; <\/span><b>Graziano Scardino, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">member of the executive committee of CIA Agricoltori Italiani and President of the Agricultural Assistance Centre and of CIA Sicilia; <\/span><b>Andrea Sorbello, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Director of Public Affairs at Barilla, and <\/span><b>Francesco Tramontin, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vice-President of Global Public Affairs at the Ferrero Group. The discussion will be moderated by <strong>Marco Liberati<\/strong> of the <em>Agricolae<\/em> press agency.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Focus on Pharmaceuticals &amp; Medical Devices.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The panel <\/span><b>\u201cEU policies on health and the pharmaceutical sector\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the issue of greater integration amongst the 27 EU Member States in the field of health will be addressed. The proposals put forward and announced by the European Commission in the field of health place the emphasis on prevention, without, however, neglecting the pharmaceuticals and medical devices sector, with initiatives such as the Critical Medicines Act, the proposals for simplification regarding diagnostic and therapeutic devices, and the eagerly awaited Biotech Act II and Cardiovascular Plan. The following speakers will discuss the impact these will have on the sector and the measures needed to ensure autonomy, safety, the capacity to innovate and competitiveness with other global players: <\/span><b>Csaba Kontor, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">policy assistant in the Cabinet of Commissioner V\u00e1rhelyi at the European Commission; MEPs <\/span><b>Pierfrancesco Maran, Ruggero Razza and Tomislav Sokol<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; <\/span><b>Marco Salaris, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">coordinator for Agriculture and Fisheries, Health, Labour and Social Policies at RPUE; <\/span><b>Joan Madia, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics at the University of Oxford; <\/span><b>Andrea Bonetti,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Global Public Affairs and Head of the EU Office at the Chiesi Group, and <\/span><b>Emanuele Degortes, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">global head of access policy and patient advocacy &amp; engagement at the Menarini Group. Moderator: <strong>Lorenzo Robustelli<\/strong>, editor-in-chief of <em>Eunews<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Focus Net&amp;Tech-Media. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><b>Digital security and sovereignty: the EU\u2019s challenges for autonomy and competitiveness\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">will be the focus of the Net&amp;Tech panel. The discussion will cover <\/span><b>available resources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><b>regulations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, with a focus on the <\/span><b>Cloud and AI <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Development Act, as part of the Technological Sovereignty Package, whilst also addressing the ongoing debate on the DNA and its implications for digital infrastructure and services.
