The European Commission today (31 July) <strong>disbursed a tranche of 359 million euros, bringing the total funds received by Copenhagen through the plan <\/strong> to 1.63 billion euros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Danish government applied&nbsp;for the final tranche&nbsp;on 21 May.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2026\/06\/30\/denmark-gets-top-marks-the-first-eu-country-to-complete-its-nrrp-reforms\/\">It received the green light from the European Commission<\/a>&nbsp;on 30 June 2026<\/strong>, following verification that the targets and reforms set out in the national plan had been met.<\/p>\n<p>Denmark\u2019s programmes include <strong>measures to reduce CO\u2082 emissions<\/strong> <strong>in the agricultural sector and to support the development of climate technologies<\/strong>. Copenhagen will also allocate European funds to reforms and investments aimed at <strong>accelerating the energy transition<\/strong>, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and encouraging the use of electric vehicles. A significant proportion of the funds will also be used to <strong>improve the energy efficiency of buildings<\/strong>: around 28,000 homes will replace their oil or gas-fired heating systems with heat pumps or be connected to district heating networks. Finally, the plan provides for investments <strong>to support sustainable growth<\/strong> and the competitiveness of the Danish economy.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2026\/05\/04\/the-final-sprint-of-the-recovery-plan-is-underway-from-31-may-no-further-changes-to-the-nrrps\/\">Recovery and Resilience Facility<\/a>, established as part of NextGenerationEU, was set up <strong>to mitigate the economic and social consequences of the coronavirus pandemic<\/strong> and to support Member States in moving towards more sustainable, resilient economies that are prepared for the challenges of the twin green and digital transitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Copenhagen will receive 359 million euros as the final installment for the Danish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
