{"id":461965,"date":"2026-08-07T11:48:38","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T09:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/2026\/08\/07\/nel-2025-diminuisce-la-voglia-di-birra-11-per-cento-per-lexport-ue\/"},"modified":"2026-08-07T12:35:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T10:35:16","slug":"beer-demand-drops-in-2025-eu-exports-fall-11-per-cent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/en\/2026\/08\/07\/beer-demand-drops-in-2025-eu-exports-fall-11-per-cent\/","title":{"rendered":"Beer demand drops in 2025, EU exports fall 11 per cent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brussels \u2013&nbsp;Whether it\u2019s light or dark, mild or double-malt, it makes no difference: it is not a good time for European beer. <strong>In 2025, &nbsp;EU beer exports to non-EU countries fell by 11 per cent from 2024. <\/strong>Although the figure may still seem significant and impressive \u2013 3.2 billion litres of beer sold \u2013 in reality it masks a decline. &nbsp;Eurostat released the figures today (7 August), to mark <a href=\"http:\/\/internationalbeerday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Beer Day<\/a>, which is celebrated every year on the first Friday in August. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"it\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">In 2025, Belgium was the leading exporter of beer among EU countries, with a total of 1.5 billion litres (including both intra-EU and extra-EU destinations).<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Netherlands came second (1.4 billion litres), followed by Germany (1.3 billion litres), the Czech Republic, and Ireland (both with 0.6 billion litres).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurostat figures show a decline compared with the volumes sold in the rest of the world in 2024.
