Brussels \u2013 No immediate risk, or at least not yet. For this reason, the EU sees \u201cno reason to intervene.\u201d<\/strong>Today\u2019s (3 September) meeting of the Gas Coordination Group has concluded in line with previous statements<\/a>, but on a positive note: \u201cThe EU\u2019s gas system is resilient enough to cope with lower storage levels this coming winter,\u201d according to the statement <\/a>from the European Commission issued on the sidelines of the meeting.<\/p>\n

Today the EU is \u201cbetter prepared,\u201d thanks to \u201cgreater diversification of supplies, increased LNG import capacity and a reduction in gas demand.\u201d<\/strong> However, several factors of uncertainty remain. \u201cQatar\u2019s LNG production is still suspended, while recent heatwaves in Europe have increased demand for gas for power generation. Added to this is geopolitical uncertainty, which continues to cause significant price volatility.\u201d<\/p>\n
