The figures, as highlighted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/en\/about-us\/mission-values\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Statistical Office<\/a>, show an improvement in the trade balance, given that in July 2025 the eurozone\u2019s surplus stood at \u20ac10.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"it\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Looking at the two different trade flows, exports of goods and commodities from the euro area to the rest of the world in July 2026 totalled \u20ac276 billion, representing a 9 per cent increase compared with July 2025 (\u20ac253.3 billion). Imports from the rest of the world, on the other hand, stood at \u20ac261.8 billion, marking a 7.9 per cent increase compared with July 2025 (\u20ac242.6 billion).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-464993\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-1024x609.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"609\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-1024x609.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-768x457.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-1536x913.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-2048x1217.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-750x446.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/EU-Commercio-ING-1140x678.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"it\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Looking in more detail at trade between the euro area and the rest of the world, <strong>the increase in the surplus is mainly driven by a larger surplus in the chemicals<\/strong> and related products sector, in the other manufactured goods sector and in the food and drink sector, partially offset by a reduction in the surplus for machinery and vehicles.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The figures for the European Union as a whole, as at July 2026, show a positive balance between exports and imports of \u20ac8\u00a0<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"it\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">billion, down from the \u20ac9.8 billion recorded in July 2025. EU exports of goods amounted to \u20ac247.1 billion in value, up 7.8 per cent compared with July 2025 (\u20ac229.2 billion). Imports from the rest of the world stood at \u20ac239.1 billion, an increase of 9 per cent compared with July 2025 (\u20ac219.5 billion). The decline compared with July 2025, Eurostat explains, was &#8220;mainly&#8221; due to a smaller surplus in the machinery and vehicles sector, partially offset by larger surpluses in the chemicals and related products and food and beverages sectors.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurostat data on imports and exports show a rising trade surplus compared with July 2025.
