According to Eurostat, the EU\u2019s statistical office, in 2025 the EU imported 2.9 million tonnes of coffee from non-EU countries. Compared with ten years ago, the volumes have increased slightly \u2013 2.7 million tonnes were imported in 2015 \u2013 while the value of the transactions has more than doubled, <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/web\/products-eurostat-news\/w\/ddn-20261001-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rising from 8.6 billion euros in 2015 to 18.7 billion euros in 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the coffee imported in 2025 came from <strong>Brazil<\/strong> (1,005,200 tonnes, accounting for 34 per cent of total non-EU imports) and from <strong>Vietnam<\/strong> (587,500 tonnes, 20 per cent). Next came <strong>Uganda<\/strong> (262,400 tonnes, 9 per cent), <strong>Colombia<\/strong> (162,900 tonnes, 6 per cent) and <strong>Honduras<\/strong> (136,500 tonnes, 5 per cent). Around one third of the imports arrived in <strong>Germany<\/strong> (1,010,500 tonnes imported, 34 per cent of total non-EU imports), followed by <strong>Italy<\/strong> (608,000 tonnes, 21 per cent), <strong>Spain<\/strong> (281,600 tonnes, 10 per cent), <strong>Belgium<\/strong> (269,200 tonnes, 9 per cent) and <strong>the Netherlands<\/strong> (216,600 tonnes, 7 per cent).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-466544\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-677x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"677\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-677x1024.jpg 677w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-198x300.jpg 198w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-768x1162.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-1016x1536.jpg 1016w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG-750x1134.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.eunews.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Caffe-ENG.jpg 1081w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 677px) 100vw, 677px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2025, over 2.2 million tonnes of coffee, both decaffeinated and roasted, were produced in the EU. Production volumes rose by 12 per cent compared with 2015 (2 million tonnes), at a cost of approximately 19 billion euros.
