Brussels – The European Commission approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the creation of a joint venture by Eni Plenitude S.p.A. Società Benefit and Société Générale S.A. of France, through its Spanish subsidiary, Vulturno Investments S.A.
The transaction primarily relates to the operation and acquisition of solar, wind, and battery storage technologies.
The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies’ limited combined market position resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
