    Annual inflation stable at 2.0 percent in the euro area

    Eurostat data. Up to 2.4 percent in the EU. Italy at 1.7 percent year-on-year

    Brussels – Annual inflation rate in the eurozone was 2.0 percent (pct) in July 2025, stable compared with June. A year earlier, the rate was 2.6 pct. Annual inflation in the European Union was 2.4 pct in July 2025, up from 2.3 pct in June. A year earlier, the rate was 2.8 pct.  Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, published the figures.

    The lowest annual rates were recorded in Cyprus (0.1 pct), France (0.9 pct), and Ireland (1.6 pct). The highest were in Romania (6.6 pct), Estonia (5.6 pct), and Slovakia (4.6 pct). Compared to June 2025, annual inflation decreased in eight Member States, remained stable in six, and increased in thirteen. In Italy, the figure was 1.7 pct year-on-year and -1.00 pct month-on-month.

     In July 2025, the most significant contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services (+1.46 pp), followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco (+0.63 pp), non-energy industrial goods (+0.18 pp), and energy (-0.23 pp).
