Brussels – With its Simplification Agenda, the European Commission intends to “to reduce burdens by at least 25 per cent for companies and 35 per cent for small and medium-sized enterprises,” which means “cutting administrative costs by EUR 37.5 billion by the end of the mandate,” i.e., 1 November 2029. These are the figures provided by the Commissioner for the Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis, in response to a parliamentary question submitted by League MEP Aldo Patriciello. As part of the simplification agenda, Dombrovskis continues, “in 2025, the Commission adopted ten omnibus proposals and other simplification initiatives, bringing EUR 15 billion annual administrative savings.“
