At the same time as the European Council. Protesters called on the leaders of the 27 countries to "pay less attention to their political fortunes and more to the climate"

Brussels – A protest to raise awareness of the rights of young people and future generations in the European Union: this is what prompted Greenpeace Belgium activists to recreate Leonardo da Vinci’s famous ‘Last Supper’ painting in the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels.

Greenpeace chose da Vinci’s painting because today (June 17) the leaders of the Twenty-seven countries will meet at the European Council to discuss the future of names of major EU institutions. Instead, activists, as noted in the statement, called for more focus on young people and “less on the political fortunes of leaders.”

The 27 EU leaders are meeting for dinner tonight in Brussels.

Let’s not let them make a meal of our future.
