Brussels–Inflation in the eurozone declined in June to 2.5 percent, down 0.1 percentage point from May (2.6 percent), according to Eurostat, which confirmed the preliminary estimates released earlier this month. In June, the highest contribution to the inflation rate came from services (+1.84 p.p.), followed by ‘food, alcohol, and tobacco (+0.48 p.p.), non-energy industrial goods (+0.17 p.p.) and energy (+0.02 p.p.).
At the member state level, Eurostat continues, the lowest inflation rates in June were recorded in Finland (0.5 percent), Italy (0.9 percent), and Lithuania (1 percent). The highest annual rates were recorded in Belgium (5.4 percent) and Spain (3.6 percent).
