Brussels – Inflation at 2 percent in October in the eurozone: Eurostat confirms preliminary estimates released 20 days ago and reports a 0.3 percentage point increase in the cost of living index compared to September. In October 2024, the highest contribution to the inflation rate came from services (+1.77 percentage points, pp), followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco (+0.56 pp) and non-energy industrial goods (+0.13 pp).
Inflation also increases in Italy, rising from 0.7 percent in September to 1 percent in October.
