    VLADIMIR PUTIN PRESIDENTE RUSSIA

Brussels – The Council of the European Union decided today to extend by one year, until 28 May 2027, the framework of restrictive measures against those responsible for serious human rights violations and abuses, the repression of civil society and the democratic opposition, as well as the undermining of democracy and the rule of law in Russia. Currently, the EU’s restrictive measures apply to 72 natural persons and one legal entity.

Natural and legal persons included on the EU sanctions list are subject to an asset freeze. EU citizens and businesses are prohibited from making funds available to them. A travel ban is also imposed on these individuals, preventing them from entering or transiting through EU territory. “The EU remains firm in its condemnation of human rights violations and repression in Russia and is deeply concerned about the continuing deterioration of the human rights situation in the country, particularly in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” the Council commented.
