Brussels – The European Commission is providing Kyiv with 3.9 billion euros for drone procurement, the first instalment of a roughly 6 billion-euro military‑aid tranche meant to help Ukraine withstand Russia’s war of aggression. The disbursement of 3.9 billion euros was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, a few days ago. The cheque issued today (30 June) forms part of the wider 90-billion-euro support loan to Ukraine via the financial instrument known as the Ukraine Support Loan, which provides 30 billion euros in budgetary aid and 60 billion euros in defence support for the period 2026–2027.
