Brussels – To strengthen Poland’s competitiveness and continuously enhance the country’s venture capital ecosystem: These are the objectives of the new investment launched today (18 August) by the European Investment Fund (EIF)—part of the European Investment Bank Group (EIB)—and by the Polish national development bank, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), worth €30 million (129 million Polish zloty). This is a new venture capital fund managed by Inovo.vc, a Polish venture capital fund specialising in financing early-stage technology start-ups, primarily from Central and Eastern Europe. The initiative marks the fourth investment supported by both institutions under the Future Tech Poland (FTP) initiative, which has so far allocated approximately 580 million Polish zloty (€134 million).
The Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund, Marjut Falkstedt, welcomed the investment, stating that the EIB is supporting “a team with a proven track record that helps ambitious tech companies to grow from the earliest stages and develop solutions capable of competing at European and global level.” One of the members of BGK’s Board of Directors, Jarosław Dąbrowski, stated that “by the end of the year” they expect “to have allocated over 40 per cent of the total budget for Future Tech Poland funds.” It is important “that the next generation of global technology leaders will come from Poland and the region,” concluded one of the managing partners at Inovo.vs, Tomasz Swieboda.
Future Tech Poland is a joint initiative between BGK and the EIF, and one of the pillars of the Innovate Poland programme, a major investment project and financial ecosystem launched in Poland in late 2025 to support innovative domestic companies through a combination of public and private capital. FTP addresses the venture capital shortage in the Polish market and across Central and Eastern Europe. The fund invests in local venture capital and venture debt vehicles, which in turn finance innovative technology companies with high growth potential.
