    Petr Klement appointed to lead OLAF

    The European Commission chose him and will indicate the start date of the mandate at a later stage. A Czech national, he is Deputy Chief European Prosecutor at EPPO

    Brussels – The European Commission appointed Petr Klement to the role of Director General of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). OLAF investigates fraud against the EU budget, corruption, and serious misconduct within the European institutions and develops the European Commission’s anti-fraud policy. The date of entry into force will be determined at a later time.

    Czech national and current European Deputy Prosecutor at the EPPO, Klement previously worked at OLAF between 2017 and 2020 as a member of the Supervisory Committee.
