Brussels – The Italian Notarial Association has opened, in the presence of the Vice-President of the European Commission for Reforms and Cohesion, Raffaele Fitto, its representative office in Brussels. The office, at 120 Avenue de Cortenbergh, is located a short walk from the headquarters of the European institutions and in the same building as the Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNUE), a body that brings together notaries from 22 Member States and coordinates a network of around 45,000 professionals. A choice that the Notariat describes as “strategic”, “aimed at fostering constant dialogue and day-to-day operational collaboration” which will enable the strengthening of synergies, the development of joint projects and the assurance of even more effective coordination and even more incisive participation in European decision-making processes regarding civil law, access to justice, and the protection of citizens, thereby consolidating the contribution of the Italian notarial profession within the European notarial network.

“Having a presence in Brussels means strengthening institutional relations by engaging closely in regulatory dialogue, anticipating legislative developments and ensuring that the principles of legal certainty and the protection of the individual remain central even in the era of digital transformation,” said the President of the National Council of Notaries, Vito Pace. “In an increasingly interconnected Europe, the permanent presence of the Italian Notariat reinforces the role of notaries as guarantors of preventive legality, legal certainty, and public trust, even beyond national borders,” he added.
