    House prices on the rise: up 4.7 per cent in the euro area in the first quarter of 2026

    Brussels – In the first quarter of 2026, house prices rose by 4.7 per cent in the euro area and by 5.1 per cent in the European Union compared with the same period the previous year, according to data from the house price index published by Eurostat. In the fourth quarter of 2025, growth had stood at 5.1 per cent and 5.4 per cent respectively, signalling a slight slowdown in the rate of increase.
