Brussels –  EU agri-food exports increased 8 percent in July 2025 from June, reaching EUR 20.7 billion, according to the latest agri-food trade report published by the European Commission. The July 2025 figure confirms the July 2024 level. The EU agri-food trade surplus increased by 19 percent in July to EUR 4.6 billion.

Since January, cumulative EU exports have reached EUR 139.4 billion, an increase of 2 percent (EUR +2.7 billion) compared to the same period in 2024, mainly due to higher prices. The UK remained the top destination (23 percent).

EU food imports increased by 5 percent month on month in July to EUR 16.1 billion. They were 10 percent higher than in July 2024. Since January, the EU’s cumulative imports have reached EUR 113 billion. This represents an increase of EUR 14.9 billion (+15 percent) compared to 2024, mainly due to high prices of several EU imports, such as cocoa and coffee. Imports from Côte d’Ivoire (+EUR 2.2 billion, +59 percent) and Canada (+EUR 1.3 billion, +93 percent) recorded the most significant increase. Imports from Russia decreased further by 70 percent (-561 million euros), continuing the downward trend.
