Brussels – The European Commission has approved the creation of a Japanese-German joint venture between Mitsubishi and Bosch to provide battery-related services for electric vehicles. After the necessary review, the twelve-star antitrust authority concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns. For the EU executive, this approval “is an example of the Commission reducing the regulatory burden on companies and quickly approving a transaction that will clearly not hurt competition in Europe, and which rather aims to support the electric vehicle sector, a pivotal sector for decarbonization efforts in Europe and beyond.”
