    Brussels – In May 2026, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the euro area remained at 6.2 per cent, unchanged from April 2026 and down by one-tenth of a point compared with May 2025. In the European Union, the rate stood at 5.9 per cent, also unchanged from the previous month and down from 6.0 per cent a year earlier. The figures were published by Eurostat.
