Brussels – The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Forties Pipeline System (FPS) of the UK and interests in the North and South Graben Area Export Lines (GAEL spurlines), by INEOS of the Isle of Man. FPS and GAEL spurlines are an integrated oil and natural gas liquids pipeline transportation and processing system located in the UK Northern North Sea. INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, speciality chemicals and oil products. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns because of its limited competitive impact on the market. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
