The European Parliament will vote on the appointment of Jean-Claude Juncker as European Commission next President earlier than expected, on 15 July, as established by the Conference of Presidents of the EP. The decision was taken to avoid the overlapping of the vote with the European Council to be held on 16 July which will decide the name of the successor to Van Rompuy, to which Juncker is expected to participate.
